Foreword from a parent
Over the last four years our son and daughter have been very happy to attend Ingatestone Infants School. The curriculum has successfully engaged both very different personalities and given an excellent start to their education. The staff’s expectations of achievement and behaviour have been consistently high and always appropriate; any issues have been dealt with effectively.
The school has made it very clear how best we can support our children’s learning at home and has provided homework appropriate to both their abilities. The approach to teaching reading has been particularly impressive.
We have found the school friendly and welcoming. Both our children have thoroughly enjoyed attending the Breakfast Club which runs each morning and, as part of its service, walks our eldest child to the local Junior School. Links between the Infant and Junior Schools are strong and the transition between the two was very smoothly undertaken for our eldest child. Both our children have really enjoyed the role of playground “buddy” giving them the responsibility to help other children at break times.
The weekly newsletter keeps us well informed about what has been taught during the week and is a very helpful prompt when the children come home with the news that they haven’t done anything at school that week! It also provides information about school events and activities. There is an active parents association, the League of Friends, which organises a range of events for parents and children.
In short, we would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the school to prospective parents and their children.
