Firstly, may I welcome you to Ingatestone Infant School and say how delighted we are that you have chosen to send your child to our school.  We are looking forward to getting to know you and your child personally and believe this will be the start of a happy three year partnership with us at Ingatestone.

Current admission arrangements offer all new children a full-time place in September providing government guidance permits.

It would normally be at this time, that we invite all parents with children starting in September to a meeting at the school, however given the current guidance this will not be possible.  I am working closely with my Foundation Stage team on how best we can prepare parents and pupils for starting school.  A ‘Starting School Pack’ will be available from Monday 24th May to be collected from the school’s office between 10:00 and 14:00. This pack contains the information you need as well as the ‘Journeying Together’ which we need to be returned to school with the information we require.  If you have indicated that your child has needs, we will arrange for a private meeting with the appropriate member of our team.  At this time we are asking adults to wear a face covering while on the school site.

We intend to organise a virtual meeting for you on Thursday 10th June 2021 at 18:30, a chance for us to introduce ourselves and provide an opportunity for you to ask questions not covered in the pack or accompanying documents.  You will be receiving a link to the meeting via the email address you have given us.

At these uncertain times we have been discussing how and when there would be opportunities for the children to meet us and become familiar with the school.  At this time the guidance would not allow for our traditional play date visits, but we will be arranging some visits conforming with any changes to the lifting of restrictions.

Apologies that we cannot provide any more clarification at this current time, I am sure you can understand that this difficult time is raising a lot of issues, questions and changes to usual routines.  As soon as we have information regarding starting school we will be sure to email it out to you.  In the meantime we hope you and your family are all safe and well.
